  1. Training Visa (Subclass 407): The Training Subclass 407 Visa is a short-term visa for persons who want to study or work in Australia. The Training visa permits persons to do occupational training in Australia to fulfill occupational registration or licensing requirements, improve skills in their current employment, or create capacity elsewhere.

Visit Australia to participate in a workplace-based training program (to strengthen your abilities for your present career, tertiary study sector, or field of expertise) or a professional development training program.

  1. Temporary Activity Visa (Subclass 408): This visa permits you to travel to Australia for a limited time to perform particular sorts of employment.

Eligibility:

  • have the necessary abilities to carry out the activity in Australia.
  • be supported or sponsored
  • fulfill the applicable stream’s extra criteria

 

  • Australian Government Endorsed Events: This short-term visa allows you to visit Australia to take part in events sanctioned by the Australian government.
  • It is only valid for participation in particular events that have been approved by the Australian government.
  • You can stay in Australia for up to four years or the length of the event.

 

  • Special Program: This visa allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of a unique program that has been authorized. Youth exchange, cultural enrichment or community initiatives, school language assistance, or “gap year school volunteering” are all types of special programs.
  • Participate in a unique cultural, educational, and social exchange program in Australia.
  • Stay in Australia with members of your family for up to 12 months.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Religious Work: You can work full-time for a religious institution in Australia with this visa. You and your family members who apply for a visa with you are allowed to stay for up to two years.
  • Work as a full-time religious servant at an Australian religious institution.
  • Stay in Australia for up to two years with family members.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Research Activities: This visa allows you to watch or participate in a research study at an Australian research or university institution. You and your family members who apply with you for a visa can stay for up to two years.
  • Participate in or observe an Australian research study.
  • Stay in Australia for up to two years with family members.
  • Apply for a visa in Australia or abroad, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Invited for other social and cultural activity (Invited Participant): If you are asked to participate in a community-based event, such as a sporting event, this visa allows you to visit Australia. You and your family members traveling on the visa can remain for up to three months.
  • You must have been invited to participate in an Australian community event.
  • You can stay in Australia with members of your family for up to three months.
  • You can apply for a visa in Australia or abroad, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Sporting Activities: This visa permits you to play, coach, instruct, or adjudicate for an Australian team, as well as participate in high-level sports training with a sporting organization. You and your family are allowed to stay in Australia for a maximum of two years.
  • Play for an Australian team, coach, instruct, adjudicate, or undertake high-level sports training with a sporting organization.
  • Stay with family members for up to two years.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Entertainment Activities: This temporary visa allows you to work in the entertainment business in Australia as a performer, production, or support crew on film, television, or live projects. Your visa application can include family members.
  • Work in the entertainment sector on films, television shows, or live performances.
  • Stay in Australia for up to two years with family members.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Superyacht Crew: This visa allows you to work as a superyacht crew member in Australia. You can remain for up to a year here.
  • Join the crew of a superyacht in Australia.
  • You can stay in Australia for up to a year.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Exchange Arrangements: This visa allows you to visit Australia as part of an Australian organization’s employee exchange program. You and any family members accompanying you on the visa can stay for up to two years.
  • Participate in a staff exchange and work for an Australian company.
  • Stay in Australia for up to two years with family members.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  • Domestic Work for Executives: This visa allows you to work full-time in the family of select top foreign executives in Australia. You and your family members can stay here for up to two years.
  • Do full-time domestic work at the home of a prominent foreign executive in Australia.
  • Stay in Australia for up to two years with family members.
  • Apply for the visa in Australia or elsewhere, but not in immigration clearance.

 

  1. PR (Permanent Resident): Australian migrants are permanent residents of Australia who have been granted migrant or permanent residence visas and are permitted to live and work in the country permanently. Migrants are not citizens; however, they do have the option of becoming citizens after they complete the residence requirements. Immigrating to Australia can be done through family, job, refugee, or humanitarian status.

 

As an Australian permanent resident, you can generally:

  • indefinite stay in Australia
  • enroll in Medicare, Australia’s national health insurance program
  • work and study in Australia
  • purchase a home with the help of a bank loan
  • sponsor relatives who are eligible for permanent residency
  • if you meet the requirements, you can apply for Australian citizenship.
  • for as long as your travel facility allows, travel to and from Australia.
  • work in New Zealand

Permanent residents, unlike Australian citizens, are often unable to:

  • have a passport from Australia
  • unless you enlisted (as a British subject) before January 26, 1984, you are not eligible to vote in Australian government elections.
  • apply for student loans
  • become a member of the Australian Defence Force
  • get permanent employment with the Australian government
  • returning to Australia without a valid travel document is illegal.

 

  1. Skilled Regional Visa (Subclass 489): This four-year work visa permits you to live and work in a specific area of Australia, as well as bring your family with you. This visa has two options: (1) the Extended Stay option, and (2) the Invited option.

Applicants who have held a provisional visa in subclasses 496, 495, 487, or 475 are eligible for the Extended Stay route. You must submit an Expression of Interest and acquire an invitation to apply for the visa through the Invited Pathway. The application process for both paths will be explained.

You and your family can use the Subclass 489 visa to:

  • stay in Australia up to 4 years
  • live, work, and study in a certain Australian geographical location
  • whilst the visa is valid, travel in and out of Australia
